The soft knit sandals I slip on every single day

I'm 67, and what I really wanted was one easy sandal I could wear every single day of the summer — to the shops, round the garden, out with my little dog Winnie. But the everyday ones were either flimsy flip-flops that gave nothing, or clumpy things that rubbed. By teatime I'd have sore, tired feet whatever I'd chosen.

I didn't want a fuss of buckles and straps either — just something I could step into and get on with my day. It felt like too simple a thing to ask for, and yet nothing fitted the bill.
