The pull-on denim capris I can sit down in after lunch

It was sitting down that always gave me away. I'm 67, and I love the look of a nice pair of jeans — but the moment I sat down after lunch, the waistband would dig in until I was quietly miserable. Add zips and buttons that are a fiddle for my fingers, and full-length denim that swelters in summer, and I'd all but given up on jeans altogether.

What I wanted was the look of denim without any of the punishment: cool for summer, kind to the waist when sitting, and easy to pull on.

They're the answer. They look just like proper jeans — real denim, real pockets — but the high waist is a wide, soft stretchy band with no zip or button at all, which is why nothing digs in when I sit down, even after a proper lunch. The cropped capri length keeps me cool on warm days, and they pull straight on in a second. I've practically lived in them.
