From November to March nobody sees my outfits — they see my coat. So I fixed the coat

The only thing anyone sees all winter — that's what a coat is. I'm 67, and it took me embarrassingly long to work this out: from November to March, every outfit I put together lives and dies under whatever I've thrown over it. I'd spend twenty minutes on the clothes, then walk out in a coat chosen a decade ago for being 'practical'.
